College Graduation

Hey there, my name is Nicholas Foster. I am a student at LeTourneau University who will graduate with a Bachelors in Unmanned Aircraft Systems in the Spring of 2027.
This is the first post on my new portfolio website that will serve as a way to showcase my skills, projects, and insights. This will include blog posts, engineering projects, and more. First, let me tell you a little bit about myself.
The initial spark
My interest in aviation begins at my earliest memory. My grandpa would tell me stories about his Piper Cherokee Six. I was captivated with tales of trips to Mexico and “graveyard spirals.” I was introduced to drones at 12 years old when I attended the LeTourneau Drone Racing summer camp. A few years later, while writing a speech for FFA about precision agriculture, I discovered drones as a career. Since then, I have jumped in and never looked back.
What drives me
I am driven by a desire to contribute to the future. Specifically, a future where technology can be leveraged by all people to create a better society. On a deeper level, I want to equip farmers with the tools and information to feed a world population that is projected to reach 10 billion by 2050. I see autonomous systems as the way to do this.
Where I’m heading
In ten years I see myself at the forefront of autonomous innovation. Every day I spend immersed in the industry I find another aspect I am pulled towards. I strive to contribute to autonomous aircraft research design in a capacity that makes a difference.
